If you are like me then you probably find pop up ads to be one of the most annoying things on the web. There is nothing like searching the web for a solution to a problem and having pop ups appear instead of what you are looking for. What is even worse is when pop ups occur on a slow and dated system. Well there is a solution and it is free.
Google Toolbar is the solution to the majority of pop ups you will run in to through out your web journeys. I have personally used the Google toolbar for quite some time now on each of my systems and have not found pop ups to be a problem.
The Google toolbar is freeware and has the following system requiremens.
Microsoft Windows 95/98/ME/NT/2000/XP
Microsoft Internet Explorer 5.0+
Pop-up blocker requires Internet Explorer 5.5+
The First step you need to take is to download the Toolbar located at http://toolbar.google.com/ and follow the install and setup procedures.
Once you have installed the Google Toolbar all you need to do is make sure you have enabled Pop up blocking. You can enable and disable the funtion by simply clicking on the blocked section of the bar as seen below. This is very handy since some sites will require popups to view links.
The toolbar also has other useful features such as the Google search field. I hope this will help everyone who has a dislike for pop up ads and makes your surfing more enjoyable.
